I recently stayed at Grids in Ueno for a week during Hanami season. The location was perfect, just a short walk from Ueno Station. I loved that everything was within walking distance, including Ueno Park, restaurants, and shops. The price was definitely worth it, considering the convenience and amenities. The staff were friendly and the facilities were brand new. The best part was the great WiFi speed, which was a huge plus for me.
I do recommend this hotel.

The hostel's location was perfect, with the JR Ueno station just across the road. The bunk beds had storage for valuables, and the public area was open 24/7 for relaxation. The hostel was brand new and modern, with key card access for safety. The facilities, including showers and toilets, were clean and comfortable. It was also conveniently located for travel to Narita Airport.
Nothing to complain about at all.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, being very close to Ueno, the major train station for both inner city subway and JR trains going outside of Tokyo. This made sightseeing a breeze, as we could easily access various parts of the city. the hotel is conveniently located near the metro, allowing us to explore other areas with ease.
The only downside we experienced was the thinner mattress on a wooden base, which made the bed somewhat uncomfortable for sleeping.

Nothing could have been better.

the location was perfect, easy to walk to the night life in Ueno and close to the metro and long distance trains. the room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. the staff were friendly and accommodating. the breakfast provided was sufficient for us. We also loved the luggage storage in the room, it was very convenient.
The only inconvenience was the lack of a small garbage bin in the dorm and hooks in the shared shower stall.

The free breakfast served at the hotel was decent enough to start our day and save some money. the location was spot on, only a few minutes' walk away from the train station and multiple shopping streets. we really appreciated the clean and modern interior design of the room.
The room was way smaller than we expected, not big enough to accommodate our suitcases. There was barely any space to move around, and it could be challenging to pack or unpack.

We had a great stay at a hostel near Ueno station. the staff were friendly and hotel was super clean. the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. We enjoyed the showers and the products provided for washing. Our room was compact but well-designed with privacy curtains, USB ports for charging, and hooks for hanging. the location was perfect, right in front of one of the exits to Ueno station. We also loved the nice sitting area and cafe downstairs. a pleasant stay with a great atmosphere. Cons: Couldn't find any faults at all 😉.

My recent stay in Tokyo during Christmas was an absolute delight! The complimentary breakfast and access to a shared kitchen were a great touch. The location was perfect, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions. What I liked most was the opportunity to socialize and meet people from around the world in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I was a bit disappointed that shower towels were not provided, which was a first for me in all my hostel experience. the room size was quite small, making it a challenge to move around with ease.

My recent stay near Ueno stations was delightful. We loved the convenience of being a short walk from the stations, with easy access to nearby attractions. the facilities were good, with my favorite being the private beds in the dorm room. the bathroom and restroom were always clean, without any queues. We enjoyed the leisure facilities, especially in the lounge and cafe area. We had a minor issue with the mattress being too firm, but it was still comfortable enough to sleep on. it was an enjoyable stay with friendly service and a great location.

The hotel/hostel provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. The facility was modern and clean, with a new and well-maintained appearance. Additionally, the beds in the dormitory room offered a sense of privacy, with curtains and individual spaces for each person.
The location, which required a bit of a walk from the nearest subway station. While still manageable, it may not be ideal for those with large, heavy luggage.

Exceptional value for money. Location is convenient, close to major train station with direct access from the airport. the room was clean, comfortable and well laid out, with all necessary amenities. Friendly and helpful staff, always willing to assist.
The mattresses were a bit firm, which may not suit everyone's preference. Limited space in the dorm rooms, making it difficult to open suitcases without obstructing others.

The location of Grids Tokyo Ueno Hotel&Hostel near Ueno Park was perfect for exploring. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and they spoke English which made communication easy.
Although there were a few drawbacks, such as the small size of the rooms and limited seating options in the room, these were minor inconveniences compared to the overall positive experience. The breakfast offered at the hostel was minimal, but there were plenty of dining options nearby, so we didn't mind skipping it.
